Hello! My name is Genevieve Ricciardi. I am an Elementary Education student at the University of Mary.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago with my parents, my four brothers, and my three sisters. I was home-schooled for most of my K-12 years, which enabled me to spend a lot of time with my siblings. In the picture above (on the left) are my seven siblings, my parents, and I. I also included a picture of my fiance and I (in the middle). On the right, is a picture of my fiance's family and I at the Medora Musical with Teddy and Eleanor Roosevelt. I am so grateful for all the gifts that God has given me, but I am especially grateful for the incredible gift of family.
I have a love for children that was formed through many years of taking care of my own siblings, as well as babysitting for family friends. I learned how influential children are, and I found that I can make a difference in their lives. This is what inspired me to become a teacher: my passion for helping form the minds of the next generation.
When I need a break from school, I like to make crafts, play guitar, bake, read books, watch movies, play games, hang out with friends, spend time with family, and travel. Last Spring (2019), I was able to study abroad in Rome, Italy for a semester. My time abroad was eye-opening, as it allowed me to see the world through a different lens. I cannot wait until I can go back and learn more!
